Great Tasting Italian Dishes You Need To Taste

If you have scoured the host of Miami restaurants around, you are already well aware of the varieties of cuisines available. And of the popular ones, Italian dishes are probably one of the most familiar. But, while you are already well acquainted with spaghetti and pizza (hey, who ain't?), you will be pleasantly surprised to find out that there is more to Italian food than just these.

Indeed, Italian food is actually as rich as the country's culture itself. In fact, there are many other different Italian dishes the you would probably not even heard of. And so, here are some of the dishes that you might want to try out the next time that you dine Italian.

For those fond of rice dishes, then Risi e Bisi is a must try. The dish is basically a Venetian variation of the well known risotto dish. The big difference that Risi e Bisi has with that of the traditional risotto is that it is actually more like a soup than a rice dish (which is why it is better ti eat it using a spoon rather than a fork). However, the soup is made thick that it actually looks like regular risotto.

Another tasty dish coming from the Veneto region is Fegato alla Veneziana. This one is a rather unique regional take on the ubiquitous liver and onions dish. Made with calf liver and generous amounts of chopped onions, the dish also adds a dash of red wine to it for extra flavor.

On the other hand, if you are craving for dishes coming from the Lombardy region, then pizzocheri would be to your liking. This dish is made from tagliatelle (a ribbon-like kind of pasta) cooked with a variety of leafy vegetables, such as Swiss Chard or cabbages, and cubed potatoes. The dish is then topped with Valtellina and Grana Padano cheeses.

Carciofi alla giudia is another great tasting vegetable dish, this time coming from Lazio. The dish is made from artichokes, which are then deep fried in olive oil and has a nutty crunchiness to it. The Roman Ghetto district in the city of Rome is considered to be the best place to look for it, as there are plenty of Jewish restaurants that serve it in a regular basis.

And while you are likely familiar with the traditional spaghetti, with the tomato sauce and all, you will probably be surprised that there are actually a lot of different variants of it. One of the must tries is spaghetti alle vognole coming from Naples. This one is made up spaghetti with clams, garlic, and olive oil. The clams are cooked in the dish live, which then releases a liquid that creates the dish' primary flavor.
